Thin Rich Pretty: Book Review

I have A LOT to update on, but before then I'd like to do a little book review. I finished the book, Thin Rich Pretty by Beth Harbison, on vacation and I have to say it wasn't as good as I thought it'd be. I enjoyed the story line overall, but I felt as if it didn't need to be as long as it was... but more on that in a minute.

My Review:


I honestly had an extreme amount of trouble getting through the beginning of the book. I felt as if I was just thrown into the past, and then all of the sudden it was twenty years later - with the same three girls Lexi, Holly, and Nicola. Now while I loved each of the girls, I certainly had my favorite, and surprisingly it was Lexi - the one who seemed to have it all during camp, only to lose it all twenty years later due to something that was completely not her fault. However, it enabled, her, as well as the other girls, to see their mistakes and learn from them. Every girl acts quite the same when they're 13, with a strong attitude and a unchangeable mindset. Their stories connect at summer camp at the age of 13, and continue until they are well in their 30s with different aspirations - to be thin, to be rich, to be pretty? But does that really make one happy in the end? These women find out. After reading, although it was an obvious ending, I still found out that the grass is not always greener on the other side. Appreciate what you have and take nothing for granted.
